In order to strengthen camaraderie within the Rotaract Club of Jacmel, a series of activities, organized in collaboration with club members and prospects, was held during the month of February to celebrate the club's 8th anniversary. A moment of exchange between two participants in the “Rota Care” activity. Rota Care was created by the Wellness Committee, which focuses on well-being, solidarity, and strengthening bonds between Rotaractors. According to District 7020, its main goal is to help Rotaractors better manage their mental health and promote a culture of well-being within clubs. In line with this approach, each club in the district is encouraged to organize activities that promote personal balance, cohesion, and mutual support. It was in a warm atmosphere on Sunday, January 25, 2026, during our regular statutory meeting, that the activity was launched. Following a random draw, pairs were formed, and eight actions were to be carried out to mark the club's eighth anniversary. These actions were defined in advance and were designed to promote interaction and closeness between participants. Among the proposed actions were i nviting your partner to an activity, giving them a gift, accompanying them on an errand, picking them up from work, and sharing a drink or a meal , among other initiatives aimed at cultivating attention and kindness. According to Anne Catherine Terminé, director of the Wellness Commission, this initiative has created simple but meaningful moments among club members. “Rota Care has given us the opportunity to get to know each other better, take time for each other, and strengthen the family spirit that characterizes Rotaract,” she explains. Beyond the simple festive aspect of the club's anniversary, “Rota Care” proved to be a truly social experience. This activity helped break down certain barriers, strengthen ties between former members and new prospects, and remind us that service also begins with the attention we pay to one another.

From July 11 to 13, 2025, Rotaract clubs in the southern region (Jérémie, Les Cayes, Léogâne, and Jacmel) gathered for an extraordinary joint handover ceremony. The event was held in the country's third-largest city for this third edition. On Saturday, August 23, 2025, the prospects of the Rotaract Club of Jacmel mobilized for a community action before their induction scheduled for September 7, 2025. They carried out a cleanup of Lakou New York, more specifically of the Place Simon Bolivar.

The Rotaract Club of Jacmel participated in the "Simen Semans Konbit pou Chanjman Sosyal" competition , organized by the Konbit group, which highlights local initiatives capable of generating real social change, and won 2nd place for the month of October. For this competition, our club presented its project to donate 2,000 books to the Lycée Henry Christophe in Marigot , thus offering students in the community a space dedicated to reading and education. We will receive 150,000 gourdes , a valuable support that will allow us to continue and expand the activities of our library: purchase of new books, completion of furniture and training for the librarian. This victory is a wonderful recognition of the Rotaract Club of Jacmel's commitment to supporting literacy and basic education, as advocated by Rotary International. It also confirms that small projects, when carried out with passion and determination, can have a lasting impact on the community. The Rotaract Club of Jacmel organised, on Sunday 9 November 2025, the very first forum on the social and solidarity economy (SSE) at the town hall of the city, around the theme: "Local development and SSE: transforming solidarity into an economic engine". This initiative, led by the club's Community Action committee, brought together more than sixty participants from diverse backgrounds: young entrepreneurs, community organization leaders, students, representatives of public and private institutions, as well as several local development actors. The objective of this forum, according to the head of the community action commission (2025-2026) within the Rotaract Club of Jacmel, Maxon Michel, was to promote an economic model that takes into account our reality. "In a context where many young people and local businesses are looking for innovative models to grow, this theme allows us to emphasize the values of solidarity, resource sharing and integrated local development as real tools to rethink how we build collective wealth," Maxon Michel told the club's communications team. This forum was marked by interventions from experts and professionals in the field, including Dr. Bernard Taillefer, former director of the People's Banks of Rwanda, economist Roc Élie, Roobens Louis, founder of " Ann Kreye" , Nathalie Cadet, vice-president of the Caisse Populaire Espoir (CPE), Gabrielle Aurel, founder and president of " Sonje Ayiti Organization" , Nonais Dérisier, specialist in microfinance and cooperative development, as well as Wud Rabel, economist and Past-President of the Rotaract Club of Jacmel. The day concluded on a note of commitment, leaving participants with a strong sense of dedication and enthusiasm for promoting the social and solidarity economy within the community. Participants commended the Rotaract Club of Jacmel for initiating a unique forum for reflection on such a crucial topic for the country's development. “What motivated me to participate in this forum is that the social and solidarity economy is one of the pillars that supports many communities in Haiti.” “It was enriching to see that each young person could acquire knowledge about this economic model,” testifies Jérémie K. On January 15, 2025, the Rotaract Club of Jacmel officially launched an ambitious and promising project: to provide the Henry Christophe high school with a library of 2,000 books, a learning space that will proudly bear the name of Paul Harris , founder of Rotary. This project, with a total cost of 1,100,375 gourdes , is now entering its penultimate phase: the manufacture of the furniture. Thanks to a broad community mobilization, more than 800 pounds have already been collected, as well as 169,094 gourdes in cash and in-kind donations. "We wanted to meet a real need in this public high school by creating a space where young people will have access to reading, research, and intellectual escape." The Rotaract Club of Jacmel received two HP brand computers donated by the FSC Renand Foundation on Friday, November 21, 2025. This technological equipment is part of the project to equip the library of the Lycée Henry Christophe in Marigot. Thanks to this donation, the library will be able to improve its space management, modernize its services, and provide appropriate tools for organization, access to digital resources, and administration. According to representatives of the FSC Renand Foundation, this gesture aligns with a shared vision to promote access to education and support school infrastructure in the region.
